Family Resource Center
The foundation of HeartLove Place's Family Resource Center is the belief that every child deserves to be part of a loving family and to grow up safe and healthy. Home is more than just a place to live. It means many things - happiness, security, safety, love, friendship, protection, and family. These are the things that HLP's Family Resource Center strives to protect and increase by offering parenting education courses and activities, as well as office hours providing outreach and support to the community.

Child abuse and neglect are of major concern in low-income communities such as those located in or around Central-City Milwaukee, where parents are overwhelmed with countless barriers to successful parenting. In addition, a recent needs assessment conducted by The Milwaukee Child Abuse Prevention Services found that Milwaukee's prevention programs are missing some vital elements necessary to significantly reduce the incidences of child abuse and neglect in central city neighborhoods. Heartlove Place Meal ProgramsHeartLove Place is uniquely capable of filling these gaps by utilizing a holistic approach to service delivery which includes: offering two evidenced-based parenting programs; providing case management and counseling support to those who require more individualized attention; as well as the alleviation of significant barriers to program completion and parenting such as transportation, child care, and meal provision, etc.
