Camp HeartLove
Camp HeartLove is a summer enrichment program that offers numerous fun filled and educational activities for children from 5 to 12 years of age. The activities being presented in our program offer opportunities to children in Central City Milwaukee, which they may not have otherwise had. The purpose of Camp HeartLove is to provide a safe, nurturing environment for the young. Our goal is to enrich the lives of youth in Central City Milwaukee by instilling Christian values, providing guidance and teaching life skills. For many of the youth participating in the program, HeartLove is a safe, fun and loving place to come and learn. A 12-year-old male participant with little guidance from his mother stated, “If it wasn’t for the youth program at HeartLove, I would probably be dead.” The average attendance is fifty to sixty youth per day.
Specific programs, classes, and activities have been created for our youth and implemented in Camp HeartLove’s program design to assist in the development of life skills such as: problem-solving, communication, and relationship building skills. Our hope is that these newly acquired life skills will lead to more unified families residing in the surrounding community. Camp HeartLove provides training for young people with the hopes that these same children will one day reinvigorate our families, our schools, our churches, and our local businesses.
