Family Assistance Program

HeartLove Place is here to serve Milwaukee families.  We understand that there are ups and downs that we all go through and that sometimes having someone to talk to, help or share can be a big help!  What we provide through FAP…Referral Services, Family Goal Setting, Resources.

 

Baby Closet

Select items for newborns up to 6 months, for emergency purposes while supplies last. We also may have diapers and wipes for emergency purposes. If you are in need, please contact us TODAY!

Family Fun Time Events

Family time is important.  HLP provides activities that foster fun family time at no cost on Friday evenings from 6pm-8pm. The evening includes a meal, fellowship, family activities and games, arts & crafts and educational seminars.  Registration is REQUIRED for these events.  Click here to register for one today!

Parenting Café

What: In partnership with the Parenting Network, HLP provides an opportunity for parents to come together to share the joys and challenges parenting. Families find new ways to engage with community, discuss their futures and aspirations, build supportive relationships and receive resources and new ideas to incorporate at home. A family meal, transportation and child care are provided.
 
Location: 1927 N. Vel R. Phillips Avenue (St. Francis Church)

Youth/Teens Programs

HLP Library Pop ups
 
Youth will explore their creative side by doing hands on projects and activities that focus on  Heartlove Place’s core areas of development; spiritual, educational, creative, wellness and social development.
 
Ages: All ages, youth under 6 must be with a parent
Location: Martin Luther King Jr. Library 310 W. Locust Street Milwaukee, WI  53212
When: Mondays from 3:30pm-5:30pm September -May  
 
Summer Programs
 
“HLP Summer Art & Garden Program” Youth will learn to grow their own veggies, learn healthy ways of eating and cooking, and beautify the city while learning about God AND his greatness! They will also be able to expressive themselves through art. We will encourage creativity, self- expression and sharpen their artistic and storytelling skills.
 
Start Date: May 22 with Garden Kick Off 3:30pm-5:30pm
Ages: 8-12 yrs-Parents are welcome to attend and participate! (Children under 8 MUST be accompanied by a parent or guardian)
Location: MLK Peace Park, located between Ring and Auer streets.
Summer Date: June 22nd 11am-2pm  
 
“Teen leadership Group” (starts June 24th) The teen program allows teens to work towards whole personal wellness. We will walk with youth as they develop healthy relationships, navigate resources for school, college and work, and as they develop emotionally, spiritually, intellectually and commit to being the best person they can be. We also will allow for youth to build on and enhance their talents…call to register!!!

Ages: 13-17 years

Time: Every Wednesday from 11am-2pm  
 
“8 Fridays of Fun!!” Field trips are for youth that have been involved with HLP programs for the 2020 year. A current application must also be on file for youth to attend. Call to find out how you can be part of HLP Fridays of Fun. Trips may include cool water, Skyzone, go carting and more!!!!

“Urban Summer Camp Experience” Three-day sleep away experience for youth that will include learning about Christ, horseback riding, zip-lining, swimming, sports, arts & crafts, leather shop and more!
 
When: June 30-July 3, 2020
Ages: 9 years-13 years
Location: Camp TimberLee –East Troy, Wisconsin
Registration: ONLY open to youth that are currently enrolled and participating in HLP programs  
 
Vacation Bible School
In partnership with Oakwood Church, three days of activities, singing, crafts, physical wellness all while learning about the goodness of Christ! Lunch will also be provided each day.
